If you have been considering counseling as an option for yourself or you are just starting to consider the idea of counseling, you have probably seen / read what seems like countless articles trying to answer the question of why online therapy. I have certainly seen more than my share. Aside from all of the reasons for online vs more traditional office face to face, why counseling?
If you are at a point in your life where you are considering counseling, then you are recognizing there are areas of your life that you would like to address. Do you ever find yourself thinking?
- Based on outward appearances it would look like you have everything going your way, but on the inside you might be finding yourself feeling unfulfilled in life or that something is missing.
- There is something from your past that you just can’t seem to shake. It seems to be there at every turn just lurking in your thinking, limiting you from being fully present and enjoying life.
- Something you just doesn’t feel “right”. You seem to feel disconnected from others, off balance emotionally or numb.
- You are stuck, nothing really provides any joy and you are just going through the motions.
- There is a constant worry that you can’t seem to shake. No matter what you might do there are lingering thoughts of what will go wrong or that regardless what you do it won’t be enough.
- You don’t know what to do with the major life decision you are facing or crisis that just hit.
Maybe there is something that you have been keeping to yourself for too long and you just need an objective, supportive person to hear you, who can validate the struggles you have been feeling and help you develop new insights into those challenges you have been carrying.
Whatever your reasons for considering therapy are, they are yours and in some way they are keeping you from living your fullest life. Counseling is something that could really be beneficial for you.
